The graduating class of Digital Media Design students were asked to create a banner that would be installed at the FGCU Arts Complex. The prompt for the art direction of the banner focuses on answering the question, "what does the future hold?".
In my interpretation, I sought to create a banner focusing on the evolution of the internet and the overwhelming nature it has taken on, especially in light of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Titled, "Could I Interest You in Everything all of the Time?", I utilized recent trending vaporwave aesthetics to develop a nostalgic desktop which features many pop ups, some superseding others. It reflects the nature of modern media's attempt to distract and boil down real-world issues with capitalism.
