The space between what is and what will happen next, where one thing ends and another is about to begin, but you are not quite there yet.
Step into the in-between...
Floppy Disk Designs
This portion of the project was developed to increase engagement with the guests as the showcase. At the project installation, guests were able to choose between the various designs and take home a floppy disk as a souvenir from the project showcase. Guests had the choice between five different designs, with the front of the floppy disk showing the design utilizing a matte printed sticker. On the back was a QR Code printed on glossy sticker paper. The QR Code links guests to the site where the project can be viewed in full after the event ends. This was a great way to involve guests with the designs.
iMac G3 Interactive Exploration
The IMac G3 was used as an interactive display in which guests would be able to explore the computer for files relating to the story of Liminal Space. From spreadsheets to text documents to paint programs, this interactive aspect of the project transports you to the world of      Liminal Space.
Scheduled Programming-Liminal Space
For the main component of this project, a 10-minute video was developed. The video was formatted as scheduled programming going through the world of Liminal Space. Using inspiration from Analog Horror, Vaporwave aesthetics, 80s CGI, and Television Infomercials, this programming explores a story about corporate capitalism and commercialism in a darker light. This video was created using Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Photoshop. The video was displayed on a smartboard on a loop so guests would be able to watch the video in full for the installation.
Digital Media Showcase
Liminal Space was a piece that was showcased in the Digital Media Design Show 'Emergence'. Liminal Space was a display that utilized interesting elements such as CRTs and the Floppy Disks displayed for use. The posters were displayed as a way to bring intrigue to visitors. The iMac G3 was displayed as an interactive element for the project, with a logo video on a different CRT. The video was displayed on a smartboard in the background acting as the centerpiece of the display. The purpose of the showcase was to establish networking with professionals and recognize the hard work put into the project.
