Katie Anne Coleman - Cyber Clique

Ah yes, the entire reason I returned to grad school.

As a fresh college grad, I was facing much uncertainty about what I wanted to do with this new creative degree. On one of the days I was contemplating my life choices, it hit me while watching Sailor Moon. What if there was a magical girl show about the internet and social media? And each magical girl represented a physical computer part?

Cyber Clique was born that day, and I knew I had to make it no matter what cost. I realized that day that I wanted to talk about social media and the internet in a way that questions how it affects our current social landscape and how people's perceptions are affected.

Cyber Clique is planned to be a fully animated series. For the purposes of my graduate thesis, I will be completing the first episode and a pitch book.

When a team of six college students are chosen to be guardians of the internet, they must work together by combining their processing powers to fight the evils of the internet. As cyberspace grows, so does the complexity of their lives. Will their powers be enough to save users online?

Pilot Assets & Synopsis

Aurora’s first night in college is forever changed when she receives a mysterious package with a strange disk and object inside. When she loads it into her computer, she gets trapped inside a digital world. She must team up with a pixelated parakeet to defeat the virus possessing her father if she ever hopes to return home.
